Smith T-U Player of the Year
Fletcher junior running back Jamari Smith was recently named the Florida Times-Union’s offensive player of the year. Jamari totaled 2178 yards on 295 carries this past season with a total of 28 touchdowns. Smith credited his offensive line of Lucas Fore, Austin Haynes, James Hennesey, Rasean Ray, Brandon Kirby and Brad Bourque for paving the way for this record breaking season. Purple’s offense amassed over 3,000 rushing yards this season and junior quarterback Evan Orth passed for over 1,700 yards with 20 touchdowns during Fletcher’s run to the state final four.
